Took the McKenzie raft trip again! At the middle of the ride you have to go ashore for a few hundred feet because of some spillage, not a big issue. Matt was our guide and was professional, smart, funny, rier with kids, etc. His infamous line from one of the worst horror flicks of all time, Anacondakept repeating over and in my head. But that feeling would be fleeting.

Our guide was friendly and informative.

We’re glad you enjoyed cooling off in the beautiful Deschutes River. I could walk back to Sunriver, sure it was a mile trek, and I was in the middle of the freaking Deschutes Forest but what was my alternative? We shoved off and eased downriver toward the first group of Class I Rapids. Some of the people were very upset because they got on at the lower part and had not even floated yet.


Once ashore Sporty Spice asked me how I liked my first white water rafting experience. And now that I was safely on dry land I could admit that it had been thrilling.

It starts out slow, but then you hit quite a few rapids in quick succession, including some class threes, that made it quite exciting for our first whitewater rafting excursion.

On the morning of the excursion, we arrived at the Sun Country offices in high spirits. We had a great time on the Deschutes with our guide, Six. We bounced through the final group of Class II Rapids and pulled ashore where our bus awaited us.

We had a great time on this rafting trip!
